Paul McCartney, 81, grows white facial hair as he attempts to recreate his bearded look from his Bea
Paul McCartney emerged from his London office on Friday with a thickening white beard as he attempted to recreate his bearded look from his Beatles heyday.
The musician, 81, cut a dapper figure in a dark navy suit paired with a pale blue shirt as he made his way to a waiting car while surrounded by security.
But the Hey Jude hitmaker was sure to catch the eye as he rocked a face full of growing white stubble, which is reminiscent to the hairier look he sported back in the day.
Paul famously grew a beard in the latter part of 1968 before shaving it off ahead of his marriage to Linda Eastman in 1969.
He later regrew his facial hair towards the end of that year and sported a fuller face of hair into the 70s.

It comes after Paul cut a sombre figure on a stroll in The Hamptons last month after paying tribute to 'good friend' Michael Parkinson following his death aged 88.
The Beatles legend looked casual in a blue hoodie which he teamed with black joggers and trainers.
Paul, who owns a home in the area, kept a low profile donning shades and a baseball cap as he was spotted picking up supplies at a grocery store.
The musician sported greying stubble and shoulder length hair which he pushed behind his ears.
It comes after Paul paid tribute to the former Parkinson host calling the late broadcaster a 'good friend' and 'great guy'.
The 'king of the chat show,' who was fondly called 'Parky' by friends and fans, passed away surrounded by his wife Lady Mary and their children at his Berkshire home on August 16.
Paul took to Twitter to discuss his friendship with Michael and recall how the TV legend appeared on one of Wings' album covers.
Sharing a photo of them together he wrote: 'I first met Michael Parkinson in Liverpool when he and his team came to see us at the Cavern Club.

'He was a very likeable guy and we eventually did our first TV performances with Granada in Manchester, where Michael worked.
'Through the years I got to know him more and more, and appeared on his chat show quite a few times.
'He was a pleasure to talk to and we always had fun.'
Paul added: 'He appeared on the front cover of 'Band on the Run' as one of the escaping convicts in the title song.
'He was very knowledgeable about many subjects and a keen sports-lover.'
'I will miss him personally, as a good friend. I send all my love to his family and friends. Cheers Michael, you're a great guy okay! – Paul x'
