Ryan Olson, who was 37 and from Rigby, died in the five-car crash that happened in May 2021 and sent most of the passengers to the hospital.

According to the Idaho State Police, the accident happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of North 2nd East and Moody Road.

Jamie Curtis, 29, of Rexburg, was driving a 2011 Honda Pilot when he hit Olson, who was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla.

Ryan Olson died in a car accident in Rexburg on May 17, 2021. The investigator says that his 2011 Honda Pilot and Jamie’s 2011 Honda Pilot collided.

Olson and his car went into a canal when the accident happened, and he died right there.

ISP says that after the first crash, Brian McRae, 42, of Rexburg, crashed his Dodge Ram, Jarin Inskeep, 24, of Blackfoot, crashed his 2004 Chevy Malibu, and Jeanne Smith, 59, of Roberts, crashed her 1997 Honda Civic.

The Idaho State Police were the ones who looked into what happened. They got help from the Rexburg Police Department and the Madison Fire Department.

Ryan Olson, who was from Rigby, is said to have died in 2021 because Jamie Marie Curtis hit him from behind and drove his car into a canal.

The indictment says that Curtis drove a 2011 Honda Pilot at a high speed near the intersection of North 2nd East and Moody Road while Olson had uncontrolled low blood sugar.

Then, Curtis is said to have hit the back of Ryan Olson’s car. Police reports say that this was done against the law, but not on purpose.

Ryan Olson was married, and he and his wife, Marcye Hunter, had three kids.

Ryan’s two beautiful children, Kenzley and Rycker, and step-son Peyton were only eight, ten, and twelve years old when he died.

Ryan grew up with his three other siblings. He liked riding his snow machine motorcycle and getting into funny trouble with his three brothers.

His wife and children live with him now in Idaho Falls, which is in Bonneville County.

What’s going on with Jamie Curtis, who has been accused?

After the crash, Jamie Curtis was taken to Madison Memorial by a ground ambulance.

Aside from that, EastIdaho News said that the person who was being charged had apparently driven to the wrong side of the road because they were too high on sugar. The state says that the terrible thing that happened was caused by her illness.

Even so, a grand jury has charged Curtis with vehicular manslaughter, which is a felony.

Documents from the court show that she was told to go to the Madison County Courthouse, but she was not locked up.

After being charged on June 30, Curtis is set to be brought before a judge on July 26.

Even though she’s been accused of doing these things, that doesn’t mean she did. No one is thought to be guilty until they are proven guilty.
