Legendary sports host Mike Missanelli to leave 97.5 after a decade. He received a huge farewell from his colleagues. 

Mike Missanelli is a popular sports radio presenter. He most recently served as a host for ESPN's 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia.

Missanelli is also known for his tenures as a journalist for The Philadelphia Inquirer. He also served for the WTEL 610 WIP and 93.3 WMMR.

Who Is Replacing Mike Missanelli In 97.5? 

Hunter Brody and Tyrone Johnson are going to replace Mike Missanelli at 97.5 The Fanatic. Similarly, Ricky Bottalico has also been lined up for the 2 to 6 slot. The combo will be lining up for the next iteration of The Fanatic's afternoon show.

Meanwhile, the veteran radio host will start his new journey as a cooking show host. He will be part of the new series, "The Everyday Cook."  He will be releasing a kids’ book titled “The Adventures of Shima The Shiba”. The book details about Shiba Inu dog and its human owners.

Talking about Missanelli's situation, he had signed a year's extension last December 2021 and a short-term one.

Missanelli received heartfelt goodbyes from his colleagues as he tearfully announced his departure on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

The longtime host said: "My current contract expires in a couple of weeks, and the company and I have decided to go in another direction," 

"The station and I have talked about me remaining with the company in some kind of role, but who knows."

After the announcement, Missanelli also stated that there is gonna be a replacement show. He further said will eye for a short vacation for some days. 

Even without Missanelli, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, NBC Sports Philadelphia will continue to simulcast the afternoon show on the radio station.

Mike Missanelli Replacements: Who Are Hunter Brody And Tyrone Johnson? 

Hunter Brody and Tyrone Johnson will probably take the 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. slot. They have their own unique profile and experiences in the broadcast field.

Brody has been working as the host of Sports Talk with Brodes for some years now. He is also the owner of Broads Media.

According to his bio, Hunter Brody was raised in  South Jersey and had eighteen years of hickey career. He has interned at the 97.3 ESPN, an FM sports channel in Atlantic City.

Similarly, Johnson is the host of Tyrone Johnson Show Saturday 9-Noon. He is also the co-host of Sixers Outsiders on NBCSPhilly and producer of the Mike Missanelli show. In past, he also worked for the Wall Street Journal.
